“I am a club runner with Dundrum South Dublin. I commenced training with slow easy miles and eventually worked my way into doing sessions twice a week. After 5 months I ran my first cross country race and encountered the pain and exhilaration of competitive running. While my running style was not the worst ever seen my efficiency was poor and so I decided to start core exercises. I read an article by Sean Singleton in the Irish runner and decided to contact him to start my core work. The core exercises for the first 6-8 weeks focused on building core stability before moving on to tougher more advanced exercises. The planned and controlled approach to each weeks training as well as excellent instruction is key to my core strength and development over the last 6 months. I have noticed a marked improvement in my running style. Furthermore core training has helped me to understand the muscle groups that are required for efficient running. This has allowed me to engage these muscles more readily and has seen an improvement in my racing times.”

“I was very fortunate to return to active sport (Tae Kwon Do and Running) after suffering a severe back injury (A prolapsed disc which caused severe sciatica and nerve damage). I didn’t run for 6 months or do Tae kwon Do for almost a year. Excellent physio over a long period and accompanying rehab exercises allowed me to return to my chosen sports. Unfortunately since my return, my back has always been sensitive to injury, especially when I increased the intensity of my training. I discussed this with Sean at evolve coaching and he designed a core strength and flexibility programme for my back . The results have been excellent. My back has been injury free and I am able to train much harder. My physio has examined me and he has been very impressed with the results of Sean’s programme. If you want an excellent and individualised core strength and flexibility programme then I would wholeheartedly recommend you contact evolve. “
